====== VPN Access ======

Virtual Private Networks (VPN) allow access to services, servers and [[https://www.sub.uni-goettingen.de/digitale-bibliothek/e-medien/|e-media]] from outside the Göttingen campus. Instructions for using VPN access can be found [[de:services:network_services:vpn:start|here]].

Due to the current situation we have massively increased the number of VPN accesses to the campus and now offer a total of three VPN gateways. Please use preferably //vpn-b.gwdg.de// and //vpn-c.gwdg.de// instead of the standard access via [[https://vpn.gwdg.de|vpn.gwdg.de]]. Access to all VPN gateways is as usual via the AnyConnect Client. As VPN gateway, //vpn-b.gwdg.de// or //vpn-c.gwdg.de// must be entered accordingly.

An automatic load distribution would need time and resources, which we currently use for evolving our service portfolio for [[https://info.gwdg.de/docs/doku.php?id=en:services:mobile_working:start|mobile work]]. Therefore, please inform yourself about the [[https://status.gwdg.de/vpn/|load]] of the individual servers and change if you notice any restrictions. Thanks a lot.

For special access via VPN, especially for University IT and for colleagues with access to SAP services, a special, exclusive VPN gateway will be set up shortly.
