====== POP3 / IMAP ======

To access your emails from diverse email programms, use standard protocols: **POP3** or **IMAP**. 

Type in the following mail server description regardless of the protocol type:

** Incoming Mail Server (POP3, IMAP4) **: email.gwdg.de\\
** Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP) **: email.gwdg.de\\

For authentication use your user ID, additionally you may need to indicate the domain (e.g. GWDG-users use **gwdg\lmuelle8** , here GWDG refersto domain and lmuelle8 refers to user ID). 
Choose the secure connection type via STARTTLS:
