XMPP
GWDG operates an XMPP service. XMPP (Extensible Messaging and Presence Protocol) is an open standard of the XMPP Standards Foundation. It is also known under its former name “Jabber”.
What are the prerequisites for use?
For the use of GWDG's XMPP service, a GWDG user account is needed. It is necessary to possess a UID. This is the case with most of our users.
Which are the server's data?

The user is authorized by GWDG's LDAP service. Encryption is mandatory.
