Account Activation

Only full, non-student GWDG accounts are eligible to be activated for the HPC system.
This excludes student accounts (i.e. accounts with mail addresses ending in, even though they are marked as full accounts in the portal.

To see if you have a full GWDG account and can therefore be activated for th HPC service, log in to our portal, and take a look at your account page. If the institute ends with “Nutzer o. Institut (GNOI)”, it is NOT a full account.

To get your account activated, please create a ticket via email to, including your username and ideally from the email address associated with the account.

Getting a full GWDG Account

To apply for a full GWDG account, please fill out this form. Once you have such an account, you can have it activated as described above.
