Apple iOS
Example iOS Version: 18.01
Apple's iOS supports Microsoft's Exchange ActiveSync protocol (EAS), allowing emails, calendar events, contacts, tasks, and notes to be automatically synchronized with the GWDG Exchange server using Direct Push technology.
To set up the Exchange account, go to Settings under “Apps” and select the Mail app:
Tap on “Mail Accounts”:
Here, select the option “Add Account”:
Choose “Microsoft Exchange” as the account typet:
In the next window, enter the user details:
E-Mail: | The primary email address |
Beschreibung: | Any preferred description |
Confirm the details by tapping “Next”.
Since iOS does not typically support auto-configuration, select “Configure Manually”:
Now, enter the password associated with the email address.:
Next, choose the data categories to be synchronized: Mail, Contacts, Calendar, Reminders (Tasks in Outlook/OWA), and Notes.
Complete the setup by tapping “Save”.
The newly created account will now appear in the Mail app. Tap on it to access its settings:
At the bottom of the Account Settings, you can review the server settings and user details:
Under “Advanced Settings”, ensure that the “Use SSL” option is enabled:
Once the credentials are entered correctly, synchronization via Direct Push will start automatically, ensuring the seamless transfer of emails, calendar entries, contacts, tasks, and notes between the Exchange server and the iOS device.
